Spiderman 4 Movie Release Pushed Back To 2011

Spiderman 4It's not without feeling some frustration that I learned that Spiderman 4 is being pushed back from 2009 to May 2011...

During a meeting with theater owners Spider-Man producer Laura Ziskin revealed that Spider Man 4 is tentatively scheduled in May 2011. Moreover the screenplay of Spiderman 4 is not even finished yet... And besides, neither Director Sam Raimi nor Actor Tobey Maguire is yet confirmed for this fourth movie installment of the Spider-Man franchise.

Why do they wait so long? Aren't they afraid of people loosing interest not only in Spiderman but more generally in the superhero genre if they wait too long?

Let's hope that Marvel and Sony will try to start the production of Spiderman 4 as soon as possible!

I think that people losing interest in spiderman isnt the case. If you were in their position they would want to get this one right. Spiderman 3 was by no means a bad action movie, but the first two were about something more than that. It was before all of the superheroes entered the big screen and it boiled down to the soul purpose of spiderman. It touched everyone somehow and stayed true to the spiderman we grew up with. When they made the third film it seemed as if they thought their whole audience had grown up and changed, but i dont think that is true. the same reason we loved the original film is why we go to see these movies. If making another spiderman will take a few years, no one should complain. Twenty years later when you watch spiderman 4 with your kids the difference between the 2009 spiderman and the 2011 spiderman is quality, and when discussing films this should always be taken into consideration.

I think that if they wait people will start to forget and then when they bring it back everyone will be surprised and want to see like Indiana Jones kind of.

interesting comments. we, the fans are attracted to the movie because of the comic magazines. those magazines were like kind of 'bible' for the young ones. the story line and artistic comic drawn us into world of heroes, with dilemmas in a challenging times. lets hope the movie producers brings out the magic touch of spiderman again in the up-coming movie.

First of all, I don't think I'll ever lose interest in Spiderman. He's my #1 favorite superhero. I think in the 4th movie they should have him encounter one or more of the other Marvel heroes. It doesn't have to be the main theme of the movie; just a brief encounter.

I thought Spider-Man 3 was a great movie because when Harry teams up with Peter Which shows great friendship and Harry's butler told him that he clean his father's wound and Harry's revenge was nothing but madness and Harry risks his own life to save Peter from Venom and when Harry died everyone cried or tearied eye. And it had a few life lessons.

I have been a Spider-Man fan since I was a kid and what made me a fan is the believability of the stories. You had Spidey's problems with the villains and Peter Parker's real life problems. Not everyone he met was a super villain from the past, nor was every super villain he met one of his friends or family members. They have beaten this to the extreme. How in the world did the Sandman become the one who killed his Uncle Ben? Why is Mary Jane again in trouble at the end? Why does everyone know that Peter is Spider-man? Leave things alone and simply write a good story. Peter didn't take his mask off to everyone (Green Goblin in 1, Doc Ock in 2, then Sandman in 3?) how about some other climax at the end, in all 3 movies it was MJ at the clutches of the bad guy. Come up with something different. And finally try leaving Spidey's mask on for a change, why does he have it off all the time, except that Toby's contract requires his face to have so much screen time? These have ruined the series for me. I just want good Spider-man movies.
